Like in the last sprint of my holiday I began watching Mars. Ah, I wanted to see this drama since ages! But I didn't have the drama, then the time to watch it... But now both were in my luck, and I can even see it on a wilder, new screen. So yeeey! ^.^

Mars is another drama made of a japanese manga, called the same, made by Soryo Fuyumi.
It's about the extremly shy art student Han Qui Luo (Barbie Xu from Meteor Garden) and the popular playboy Chen Ling (Vic Zhou). By chance they meet as Ling asks for direction to visit his friend, who was injured in a bike racing. Qui Luo drew him a map, unknowing that she was drawing on the back of one of her sketches. Thanks to the wife of his friend Ling notices the sketch of a mother holding a baby, and is really touched by it. In school they get into the same class. Han Qui Luo get harassed by a teacher, and Ling cames to her rescue. Maybe cause they both have a dark past, they are feeling drawn to eachother, but that needs to be overcome in both of their lifes, before they can really accept eachother.

About the story... well, I've not read all of the manga, but how I remember, it was about the girls problems first, and then more about the guy... in the drama it's turned. Even though it seems like Ling saves Qui Luo, it's more about his feelings and how his character changes... and just as he changed does he realise again that Qui Luo has a dark past that doesn't want to let go of her.
The actors... I was really surprised in a nice way! In Meteor Garden I already saw both playing, and can only say... they are way better here! Don't know if it's cause they had so much time to get to know eachother in MG, or the role was better fit for both here. The most I was fascinated with Vic Zhou. It was really great acting on his part! *.*
 
One thing that was a little strange, that - even though the story of the characters wasn't the same as in Meteor Garden - for a while there I felt like it's Hanazawa Rui and Makino Tsukushi getting together... Maybe it's still the influence of MG - another great drama on my re-watch list. ^.^
